The Nuggets played a part in Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night. Leon Powe, the Nuggets’ only pick (49th overall) in the 2006 NBA draft, was dominant off the bench for the Celtics. Granted, he was a Nugget for just moments as they traded Powe’s rights to Boston in exchange for a 2007 second-round pick, which eventually was used as part of a package deal to acquire J.R. Smith.

But the Celtics sure liked having Powe on Sunday night. Powe, who came into Game 2 averaging 4.6 points in 18 playoff games, scored 21 points — making 6-of-7 shots from the field — in just less than 15 minutes of playing time. He nearly outscored the Lakers’ bench, which had 23 points, by himself.
