A 20-year-old Ault man was reportedly stabbed in a Fort Collins Super Wal-Mart late this afternoon.
Frank McConnell was found at 4:33 p.m. in the store located at 1250 E. Magnolia St., with a single stab wound to his abdomen. He was transported to the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland where his condition has not been released.
The alleged suspect fled the Wal-Mart before police arrived; however, witnesses were able to get a description of the suspect’s vehicle.
The suspect’s vehicle was later found in the 2800 block of Tulane Drive. The 17-year-old driver, whose name is not being released, was detained and taken to the police department for questioning.
Police are investigating two additional incidents in Fort Collins that occurred before the stabbing, which may be related to the same suspect.
At 3:40 p.m. in the 2000 block of Matthews Street, a person reported being harassed while riding his bicycle.
About 20 minutes later, another incident was reported that a 25-year-old man suffered minor injuries during an assault at 949 S. Taft Hill Road. Witnesses to these incidents provided descriptions that pointed toward the same suspect in the alleged Wal-Mart stabbing.
Fort Collins detectives are conducting a formal investigation into the three incidences.
