DENVER—The Denver District Attorney’s office has filed charges against a former police officer suspected of offering money to two girls to have sex while he watched them.

Former Denver police officer Joseph Bini faces charges of soliciting for child prostitution and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The charges stem from allegations he enticed the two girls at a downtown Denver store.

The 39-year-old faces up to 12 years in prison if convicted of the charges filed Tuesday. He is free on $75,000 bail.

Bini was the Denver police officer who signed a no-knock drug warrant on the house of a Mexican immigrant shot to death by officers after they say he confronted them with gun. Police later said the warrant was for the wrong house and Bini was suspended for three months.
