CHICAGO — Alfonso Soriano could miss up to six weeks with a broken left hand after the Cubs star was hit by a pitch Wednesday night against Atlanta.
Soriano was hit in the second inning by Jeff Bennett. The outfielder will be in a splint for three weeks, Cubs spokesman Peter Chase said.

Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols is expected to miss at least three weeks with a strained left calf. Chris Duncan was recalled from Triple-A Memphis (Tenn.).
Also, Cardinals right-hander Adam Wainwright was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained middle finger on his pitching hand.
