GRAND JUNCTION — An Alaska woman accused in the death of her infant son has been returned to Colorado to face charges.

Morgan Hite, 22, of Wasilla, Alaska, was booked in the Grand Junction jail Friday on charges including first-degree murder. She is scheduled to be arraigned today.

Police say that while visiting her parents in Grand Junction in February, Hite secretly gave birth in a neighbor’s bathtub, put the baby in a bag and left him in a closet at her parents’ home.

The baby’s decaying body was found April 29.

Hite was arrested in Alaska last month. She signed extradition papers this month. The Associated Press
