ASPEN, Colo.—The Aspen Skiing Co. wants to build a ski jump at its Buttermilk Mountain resort.
The White River National Forest said Monday the ski jump is one of eight proposals for the area, including new snowmaking facilities, a new lift to replace two existing lifts and a lift maintenance facility.
Aspen Skiing Co. needs Forest Service approval for the projects because it operates Buttermilk on the agency’s land.
Rich Doak of the White River National Forest says the proposals must undergo an environmental analysis before officials decide whether to approve them.
The Forest Service says public comments on the proposals must be submitted by July 15.
