The Kennedy Center will go ahead with its plans to honor the late George Carlin with its Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. Carlin, 71, died Sunday, just days after the center had tapped the groundbreaking comic to receive the award. For the Twain award, the center requires that the person being saluted attend the ceremony. The center announced Monday that it will host an evening of tributes Nov. 20.
