The Denver Botanic Gardens will submit a site plan for a concert venue proposed for its Chatfield location to Jefferson County.
The plan will include studies of noise and traffic — two concerns raised by neighbors close to the Chatfield gardens southwest of C-470 and South Wadsworth Boulevard.
The concert site, with three gently sloped, grass-covered berms and a permanent stage, “is really a lawn,” said Brian Vogt, chief executive officer of the Denver Botanic Gardens. Except for concerts, he said the area will be a place where people can picnic and play catch.
Vogt said Monday that the site plan will be given to Jefferson County by Tuesday afternoon. Within 30 days, a public hearing will be held before the county planning commission.
“We have never shied away from the public process,” Vogt said. “This one got really complicated.”
