HIGHLANDS RANCH — More than 20 people were displaced overnight Wednesday after an afternoon fire destroyed four apartment units in Highlands Ranch.
The other four units were being evaluated for smoke and water damage.
The fire at the Palomino Park apartment complex, 6098 Blue Ridge Drive, started about 2:20 p.m. One firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion.
The Red Cross said it was taking care of the estimated 21 residents displaced at least for the evening by the fire.
