DENVER—The Colorado Avalanche have signed restricted free-agent forward Wojtek Wolski (VOY’-tek / VOHL’-skee) to a two-year contract.
The 22-year-old native of Poland had 48 points with 30 assists last season. He had six game-winning goals and was 4-for-8 in shootout attempts.
Wolski was the club’s top draft choice in 2004 and was the fourth-leading scorer among rookies in the NHL in the 2006-07 season.
General Manager Francois Giguere (FRAN’-swah / zhee-GEHR’) says Wolski is part of an elite young group of players establishing themselves in the league.
