After last weekend’s Fourth of July frolicking, Denver’s bars and clubs are taking it a little more slowly this week. There’s nothing wrong with some quiet relaxation, especially after three days of partying and sanctioned, encouraged explosions. And it’s summertime, the living’s easy and all that.

In true Denver style, though, it’s not going to be boring, just a bit less intense. It’ll be like a Country Time Lemonade commercial, but spiked.

Tonight, Theorie (1920 Market St.; 303-296-2255) throws a Bacardi Beach Party hosted by Jeremy Ostermiller’s new Lead Alliance Media Group.

A bikini fashion show sets the tone for the evening. Mojitos are free from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. — just don’t forget to tip your servers, as they’ll be strutting in swimwear, too, to add to the vibe.

There’s no cover, but get there early. The pull of free drinks and bikini babes will be strong in LoDo tonight.

Old-school hip-hop fans will be right at home on Broadway this weekend when two of Regas Christou’s clubs host back-in-the- day legends.

Tonight, the Sugar Hill Gang plays Vinyl (1082 Broadway; 303-860-8469). Even if you don’t know hip-hop, or you’re one of those people who say you don’t like it, you know “Rapper’s Delight.”

“I said a-hip-hop.” “Holiday Inn.” “Kaopectate.” You know it. That’s why they’re legends.

Presale tickets are $10 at . Doors open at 9 p.m.

Then, on Saturday, DJ Kool Herc spins at Bar Standard (1037 Broadway; 303-832-8628). Considered by many to be “the father of hip-hop,” Kool Herc gets credit for inventing breakbeats — taking the tastiest samples from funky songs, mixing them together and getting the crowd crazy.

Advance tickets are $10 at groovetickets . Just like at Vinyl, doors open at 9 p.m.

Over at fellow nightlife behemoth Beta (1909 Blake St.; 303-383-1909), Saturday’s special guest is an up-and-comer on the global dance-music scene. Serge Devant started out studying classical music in the former Soviet Union. Now he’s selling songs to Coca- Cola for the 2008 Olympics and touring the world. (After Saturday’s show here, his next two dates are in London and Sao Paulo, Brazil.)

Oh, and DJ Tiest0, one of the world’s most famous DJs, chose Devant as one of his top five DJs. That will bring some attention.

Check out Devant while you still can on Saturday. It might be a while before he returns. Doors open at 9 p.m., and presale tickets are $10 on .

Burger bar.

Vine Street Pub (1700 Vine St.; 303-388-2337) is importing another tradition from its Boulder beginnings: the $8 burger- and-beer combo.

Long a favorite at its sister restaurants, Mountain Sun and Southern Sun, the deal goes into effect at Vine Street on Monday.

Far better than a No. 1 value meal at your local burger dump, Vine Street’s offer gets you a fresh, juicy burger — one that even looks like real meat — and a frosty glass of one of their homemade brews.

It’s a fine way to start off another work week when you’d rather be playing in the sun.

Beer-based.

Like the Milwaukee music festival of the same name, Old South Pearl Street’s Summerfest celebrates the happy intersection of music and beer.

Saturday’s installment of the series, “Brewgrass,” features twangy bluegrass from the likes of Tony Furtado and the Boulder Acoustic Society. Accompaniments are provided by Colorado brewers like New Belgium, Breckenridge Brewery and Left Hand Brewing.

The suds and songs flow from 1 to 10 p.m. Saturday on the 1200 block of South Pearl Street. Admission is $1. The next Summerfest date is “Blues and Brews,” on Aug. 9. Call 303-734-0718 for more information.
