Firefighters battled a fire this afternoon — possibly caused by exploding oxygen tanks — at one Arvada home that also spread to another house, authorities say.

The Arvada Fire Department said the fire in the 6300 block of Brentwood Street started just after 3 p.m. and was out by 4 p.m.

Scott Pribble, spokesman for the Arvada Fire Department saideveryone who was inside got out safely, he said.

One firefighter was taken to a local hospital after he fell and received a minor injury, Pribble said.

Firefighters don’t know what sparked the blaze, but it is possible oxygen tanks exploded, Pribble said.
