A 25-year-old man already bleeding in the head from a street fight was talking to police when he was struck and dragged by an SUV today, authorities say.

The man, who became pinned under the white Geo Tracker, which also struck two parked police cars during the crash at 3173 S. Uravan Way, was taken by helicopter to Swedish Hospital with serious injuries just after 2 a.m. today, said Sgt Mike Woodyard, Aurora police spokesman.

Keith Busey, 21, of Aurora was arrested and is being held at the Aurora City Jail for investigation of vehicular assault, Woodyard said.

The victim, whose identity has not been released pending notification of family, is expected to survive, he said.

Police are investigating whether Busey was involved in the original fight, Woodyard said. It is unclear what sparked the fight.

It appears that Busey had been drinking and that played a role in the accident, he said.
