NHA TRANG, Vietnam — Dayana Mendoza of Venezuela has been crowned Miss Universe.
The four other finalists were Tailana Vargas of Colombia, Marianne Cruz Gonzalez of the Dominican Republic, Elisa Najera of Mexico and Vera Krasova of Russia.
Miss USA Crystle Stewart of Texas was in the top 10 but tripped on the train of her bejeweled evening gown as she made her entrance. She was the second Miss USA in a row to fall down during the Miss Universe pageant.
