A convicted child sex offender labeled a sexually violent predator fled parole and was last seen in Denver, authorities say.

Jaime Gutierrez, 28, was living in Lakewood when he violated his parole July 1 in the area of west 36th Avenue and Federal Boulevard in Denver, said Sonny Jackson, Denver police spokesman.

Gutierrez was charged in 2004 with sexual assault, pattern of abuse and various other related charges, according to Colorado Bureau of Investigation records.

He was convicted on Feb. 4, 2005 of two counts of attempted child sexual assault and was placed on probation, CBI records indicate.

Gutierrez was charged with escape in September of 2005 and was sentenced to a year in prison, according to CBI records.

The Colorado Department of Corrections is seeking information about the location of the registered sex offender, Jackson said.
