An alert TV viewer helped La Plata County authorities arrest one of “America’s Most Wanted” on Tuesday.

Alleged child molester Rodney Lee Keller, 42, was featured on the long-running Fox network crime show, and about 7:10 a.m. a call came in from an Albertsons parking lot in Durango saying a wanted man had been there.

Durango police Officer Jeff Tipton found Keller in town about 4:15 p.m.

Keller is charged with sexual assault on a child. He is suspected of molesting two 6-year-old girls in separate cases in La Plata County in October and May.

“America’s Most Wanted” aired a profile of the case July 12, portraying Keller as a drifter who could be anywhere.

“Police say child sexual abuse suspect Rodney Lee Keller has a formula to get what he wants: First he earns your trust, then, cops say, he tears your family apart,” the show’s website said in its profile of Keller.

He is in La Plata County Jail on $250,000 bond.
