Denver police have not yet released the identity of a man who died Friday after a struggle with officers.
According to a statement released Friday night by police spokesman Sonny Jackson, officers responded about 1:49 p.m. to a 911 call involving a possible argument in the 2200 block of South Lindley Court.
When police arrived, an officer saw a male who appeared to flag him down. But, Jackson said, the unidentified man ran away when police tried to contact him.
The man appeared to be bleeding from unknown injuries.
Jackson said that when officers neared the man, he became combative. Officers struggled with the man until they were able to get him under control.
Paramedics arrived to treat the man and transported him to Porter Adventist Hospital, where he later died.
