IDLEDALE, Colo.—The Colorado State Patrol says an 87-year-old woman has died after she drove her car into a tree and down an embankment.

Forrest W. Hanson died at the scene of the crash in Idledale Friday night, about 20 miles southwest of Denver. The State Patrol says Hanson drove off the right side of the road and tried to steer back into her lane but instead hit a tree. The car then rolled down an embankment.
