COMMERCE CITY, Colo.—Steven Lenhart scored a goal in the first half and Jason Garey added another in the second Sunday night to lead the Columbus Crew to their first road win against the Colorado Rapids in nearly a decade.

Lenhart scored with a shot from inside the penalty box in the 21st minute, but was ejected just before the first half ended after committing a serious foul. Garey scored his first goal of the season in the 75th minute to put the game out of reach.

The last time Columbus (9-5-4) won in Colorado (6-9-3) was July 4, 1999. This is the second time the Crew has defeated the Rapids this season, the other win coming in Columbus on June 28. The Crew entered the game with the second-best record in the league but trailed New England in the Eastern Conference by five points.
