You can’t keep a good woman down.

Two years ago, when Day of Caring for Breast Cancer Awareness became way too large for one person to handle, founder Sue Mil- ler turned it over to the pros, who have taken the concept national.

But don’t think for one minute that the former fashion model who survived her own bout with breast cancer retreated to a life of leisure. She enrolled in college to study for her master’s of social work degree.

A note from Miller’s daughter, Leslie Williams, lets us know that Sue has passed the comprehensive tests required of all such degree candidates and has begun an internship with the Denver Hospice. When she completes the internship, Williams says, “she will be a certified social worker. Then, next year, at 75, she will open her own practice, a pro-bono clinic for women needing mental health care.”

More good stuff.

The very good news is that the search committee quickly found that the best person for the job was none other than John Arigoni, who had helmed the Boys and Girls Clubs for 13 years before being wooed away by the national organization two years ago. Arigoni resumes his former post shortly.
