An early morning fire has caused heavy damage at an Aurora strip mall.

The fire started at about 4:49 at 306 S. Ironton St., said Capt. Allen Robnett of the Aurora Fire Department.

No one was injured in the fire, which was brought under control in about an hour.

The southwest corner of the mall’s roof partially collapsed and businesses there, including a convenience store, will likely be closed today. Some businesses will need extensive repairs because of the fire and will be closed for an extended period.

The cause of the fire, and a dollar estimate of the damage, were not disclosed.
