Method Man and Redman have seemingly had little use for their main gigs (Wu-Tang Clan and Def Squad, respectively) to attract the hip-hop faithful. Ever since the two hooked up in 1999, they’ve seemed near-inseparable, becoming as well known — if not better — for their duo status than the groups that birthed them. Tickets for their Oct. 29 show at the Ogden Theatre are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($25, Ticketmaster)
Rise Against will bring a trio of like-minded bands to the Fillmore Auditorium for its Nov. 12-13 stint there, including Alkaline Trio, Thrice and the Gaslight Anthem. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Aug. 8. ($28, Ticketmaster)
Jason Mraz effects a syncopated style that combines bits of jam-pop from Dave Matthews Band, Jack Johnson and neo-soul — at least on the new album “We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things.” Prior to that disc (which garnered notice, thanks to “Lucky,” a duet with flavor-of- the-month Colbie Caillat), Mraz had struggled to lock onto a sound all his own. Tickets for the Oct. 27 show at the Fillmore Auditorium are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($30-$35, Ticketmaster)
Hot Water Music will bring its gruff, upbeat post-hardcore to the Gothic Theatre on Sept. 7. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($18, Ticketmaster)
U.S. Pipe, one of Denver’s busiest funk bands, will end a short tour of the state with a Red Rocks stop on Aug. 8, at which the band will play (wait for it . . .) “Purple Rain” in its entirety. Before then, however, it will hit Avon, Aspen, Breckenrige, Fort Collins and many points in between. Check us-pipe.com for more information and ticket prices.
Matthew Sweet announced a rare Colorado show earlier this week at the Fox Theatre. Tickets for the Oct. 20 show are on sale. ($18-$20, )
Unearth’s music doesn’t sound too far off from its name, the sort of bellowing heavy metal that scrapes and crashes like a mountain being yanked from the ground. Tickets for the band’s Oct. 10 show at the Gothic Theatre are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. With Protest the Hero, the Acacia Strain, Gwen Stacy and White Chapel. ($16, Ticketmaster)
Cobra Starship will hit the Gothic Theatre on Oct. 20 with Forever the Sickest Kids, Hit the Lights and Sing It Loud. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($15-$17, Ticketmaster)
Lagwagon means everything or nothing to people, the SoCal punk act bringing back sweet memories of ’90s mosh pits in Fat Wreck Chords-loving circles, and stirring vague, mostly apathetic flickerings in others. Tickets for its co-headlining show with MxPx at the Ogden Theatre on Sept. 25 are on sale. With Only Crime and Tat. ($20, Ticketmaster)
