Aurora Water needs more time to fix more pipes than it had anticipated on 11th Avenue near Del Mar Parkway.
The road was closed Monday and the utility had hoped to reopen it Tuesday. But the closure has been extended one more day to fix adjoining storm sewer pipes, Aurora Water said in a statement.
The road is now expected to re-open at midday Wednesday.
Authorities don’t know yet what caused the hole, which the city described as “moderate.” .
The city recommends travelers use 10th, 12th and Havana avenues until the road reopens.
