In a display of the heightened sensitivity police have to potential threats as the Democratic National Convention approaches, much of Lower Downtown was shut down Monday morning after a resident noticed a mail collection box that looked out of place.

The box at 18th and Market streets proved not to be a threat. But five blocks of Market were closed for an hour while the Denver bomb squad investigated.

The dark box, which resembled a regular U.S. Postal Service drop box, was moved to the site by a private courier company over the weekend. The Denver Post
