John Fogerty will lead a lineup that includes Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Firefall, Desert Rose Band, the Railbenders, Poco and others at Copper Mountain’s Copper Country festival Aug. 29-31. The Labor Day tradition includes a rodeo, fine art, movies and kids’ events, all of which are free. Tickets for the music are on sale. ($39, copper )

Dar Williams will drop by the Boulder Theater on Oct. 14 soon after the release of her latest album, “Promised Land.” Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($25-$32, )

Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks have evolved into a tight live unit in recent years with the addition of Sleater-Kinney/Quasi drummer Janet Weiss and others. Meese is the coiled snake of the Denver music scene, a pop-rock act that has garnered rabid fans locally but which remains mostly under the radar nationally. That will change when the Denver band issues its Atlantic Records debut, but before that it’ll headline the Oriental Theater on Oct. 3 to release its new EP. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. today. Jolie Holland seems poised to become the next Feist or Cat Power, her appealingly spare, classic vocals straddling folk and indie rock with the grace of a jazz singer. Holland plays the Boulder Theater on Oct. 23. Tickets for the all-ages show are on sale at 10 a.m. today. ($16, )

Grace Potter & the Nocturnals have been making a name for themselves on festivals lately, so a theater set from the Vermont-bred retro soul-pop group ought to provide a welcome, intimate change. Tickets for the Nov. 8 Ogden Theatre show are on sale at 10 a.m. today. ($17.50-$20, Ticketmaster)

The Academy Is… will tour nonstop between now and the pop-punk band’s Ogden date on Oct. 26, so expect their new songs to be fine- tuned by then. Tickets for the show with openers We the Kings are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($17.50-$20, Ticketmaster)

Metro Station, an L.A. synth-pop act in emo- punk clothing that visited Denver with Boys Like Girls in July, will play the Gothic Theatre with Shwayze, Tyga and Cash Cash on Nov. 16. Tickets for the all ages show are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($16, Ticketmaster)

3OH!3, to no one’s surprise, added a second date to their Gothic Theatre stint. Tickets for the Denver-bred hip-hop act’s Nov. 1 show are on sale now. ($13, Ticketmaster)

Bow Wow has rescheduled for Nov. 5 at the Ogden Theatre. Previously purchased tickets will be honored, and new ones are on sale. ($32.50, Ticketmaster)
