EVERGREEN, Colo.—A company that offered luxury rail trips in the United States and Mexico has closed, citing financial problems.
GrandLuxe Rail Journeys owner Tom Rader told his staff the company lacked financial funding to continue operations.
The Denver Post reported Friday that Rader didn’t know if passengers and other companies that worked with GrandLuxe would get their money back.
GrandLuxe was previously called the American Orient Express. Rader bought the company in May 2006 and partnered with Amtrak last fall to attach a seven-car luxury train onto select route trains.
