Come on, admit it. You didn’t have to be a delegate, or even a Democrat, to be swept up in the excitement of the Democratic National Convention. It was a fun, even exhilarating, few days as our beautiful city basked in the world spotlight.

Now comes the hard part: Getting back into the workaday groove. The following may aid in the transition:

At 11:30 a.m. Friday, join a hoped-for crowd of 300 who’ll march from the west end of Civic Center Park to the State Capitol in support of the Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance. The purpose is to bring attention to the need for research dollars; speakers will include 7News anchor Bertha Lynn; state Rep. Dianne Primavera, who sponsored the bill that established the Colorado Breast and Reproductive Cancers Fund; Dr. Susan Davidson from the University of Colorado Cancer Center; and survivor Nana Sommers.

* Rare and high-quality furnishings from a Vail mountain home go on the auction block Sunday in a sale benefiting Excelsior Youth Center. Preview is at noon at Excelsior, 15001 E. Oxford in Aurora; Joe Knight of Niwot Auction starts the bidding at 1 p.m.

Six luxury units in the Watermark will be open for public tours from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 12-14 and again on Sept. 19-21. Tickets are $10 and proceeds go to the Kempe Children’s Foundation. There’s also a design awards gala and children’s fashion show on Sept. 25 with the $50 tickets also going to Kempe. Details are at .

Rocky Mountain Multiple Sclerosis Center celebrates its 30th anniversary by hosting a dinner, dance and awards gala Sept. 12 at Mile High Station. The theme is Dancing through the Decades, and honors will go to Liz Frawley, Swedish Medical Center and Music for MS. Call 303-788-4030, ext. 100.

The Women’s Foundation of Colorado receives the money raised at a Shoe Diva party that Macy’s Cherry Creek is having on Sept. 18. The 6 p.m. event features a shoe fashion show along with refreshments, a makeup bar and foot pampering services by Frizz Salon. Tickets are $25 at the door or at .

CBS4’s Molly Hughes, Murphy and Denise from KOSI, and Schuyler Hoversten of the Colorado Crush are among those who’ve signed on for the Concerts for Kids Celebrity Waiters Dinner being held Sept. 19 at Elway’s Cherry Creek. Tickets can be purchased by calling 303-399-5353.
