KABUL, Afghanistan — A NATO bomb mistakenly hit a house 1 1/2 miles off target Tuesday, killing two civilians and wounding 10 even as Afghanistan’s president was saying that terrorism cannot be defeated if innocents are killed in coalition operations.

Meanwhile, a roadside bomb killed an Afghan contract worker and three soldiers in the U.S.-led coalition elsewhere in eastern Afghanistan, the coalition said. No other details were released.

Meanwhile, two airstrikes in Afghanistan’s south and east killed more than 27 militants, including Chechen fighters, Afghan officials said Tuesday. No casualties were reported for Afghan government forces involved in the two fights.
