The Colorado Symphony Orchestra has named Marvin Hamlisch as its principal pops conductor.
Hamlisch has conducted several pops concerts for the CSO. He is best known for his movie music, writing scores and songs for films that include “The Way We Were” and “The Sting.”
According to the CSO, he will conduct three concerts a year for two years. The first, a program of George Gershwin’s music, is set for Feb. 21.
