An El Paso County man has been charged with Internet luring of a child.
In addition to Internet luring, Eric Smith, 31, is accused of Internet sexual exploitation of a child and attempted sexual assault on a child.
The charges in Denver allege that Smith initiated highly sexualized online conversations with a person he thought was a girl under age 15. He arranged to meet her at a Denver fast-food restaurant for the purpose of having sex, prosecutors allege.
Smith was arrested Monday by Denver police. A box of condoms was found in his car.
Smith has been released on a $5,000 bond and is to appear in Denver County Court on Sept. 24 to be advised of the charges.
