COLORADO SPRINGS — A city marshal who is employed by the Colorado Springs Police Department has been arrested and charged with felony menacing in connection with an off-duty confrontation last month in Widefield, Colorado Springs police announced Friday.
Scott Lanner, 46, has been placed on administrative leave after the 4th Judicial district attorney’s office decided to charge him with felony menacing and misdemeanor false imprisonment.
Lanner allegedly drew a gun on one of two men who were in his neighborhood on Aug. 8 inspecting roofs for hail damage. According to The Gazette in Colorado Springs, the arrest affidavit says Lanner later told investigators there had been several home invasions in the area and he feared for his elderly neighbors.
