After shipping veteran wide receiver Keary Colbert to Seattle in a Tuesday trade, the Broncos on Wednesday signed his replacement.
Denver added free-agent receiver Clifford Russell to its roster, coach Mike Shanahan said.
Russell, a sixth-year pro who originally signed with the Broncos on Dec. 31, led the team in receptions during the preseason and returned two kickoffs for 49 yards.
Russell has five catches for 45 yards in 21 career games.
