A serial bank robber lost his wig and his cowboy hat and may have suffered a head injury Friday after two bank employees confronted him as he tried to rob a sixth bank since Aug. 14.
Surveillance photos show the man, minus his disguise, fleeing Provenant Federal Credit Union, 4001 W. 16th Ave., Denver. According to Federal Bureau of Investigation agent in charge James Davis, the bandit dubbed “Bank Robber BOB” left a trail of blood as he fled the scene wearing cowboy boots, dark slacks, a blue shirt and a tie.
The robber entered the bank, approached a teller and passed a note demanding money but ended up in a physical fight with two employees.
Davis said the man may have run to a white, 1970s pickup with older Colorado license plates having white letters on a green background. Howard Pankratz, The Denver Post
