DEBEQUE, Colo.—The small western Colorado town of DeBeque has lost its town marshal and one of its trustees.

Marshal Gary Foss and Karen Eisenach, a member of the board of trustees since April, both resigned earlier this month.

Town Manager Bruce Smith says Foss had grown weary of handling all the problems in the growing town. The area’s energy boom is helping fuel the growth.

DeBeque will be policed by a deputy town marshal and a deputy until Foss is replaced.

Smith says Eisenach resigned as a town trustee for personal reasons. The board will take applications from residents for the next 30 days and will vote on her replacement.

Eisenach is the former town clerk and is the current deputy town clerk in Collbran.
