DENVER—The Senate Judiciary Committee has approved two candidates whose nominations to fill vacancies on the U.S. District Court in Denver had been mired in a dispute between Colorado’s two senators.

Sen. Ken Salazar’s office says the committee Thursday approved the nominations of Phillip Brimmer and Christine Arguello (ar-GWAY-oh) to the court.

The full Senate still has to vote on the nominations before they become final.

Salazar, a Democrat, and Colorado Sen. Wayne Allard, a Republican, agreed earlier this month to set aside their disagreement.
