GREELEY, COLO. — A former Weld County sheriff’s deputy has been sentenced to 90 days of work release and two years of supervised probation for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Weld County District Court Judge James Hartmann sentenced 32-year-old Landon Greatheart on Thursday.

Greatheart had pleaded guilty to the charge in July. The Weld County district attorney’s office dropped one count of sexual assault and 16 counts of promoting obscenity.

Greatheart was accused of having a consensual sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl in 2007 while he and two adult females were guardians of the girl.

The girl, now 18, asked a judge for leniency for Greatheart, as did his wife and ex-wife.

Greatheart was also ordered to perform 100 hours of community service.
