What’s at Stake
Nebraska will find out how good it really is after beating three overmatched opponents to start the season. A young Virginia Tech squad has an opportunity to get a feel-good nonconference victory after a pair of 3-point wins to open ACC play.
Key Matchup
Nebraska QB Joe Ganz vs. Virginia Tech’s defense. The Hokies are going to challenge Ganz to beat them with his arm. Va Tech defensive coordinator Bud Foster will load up to stop the run. The Huskers have yet to prove they can move the ball on the ground against a decent defense.
Players to watch
Virginia Tech: CB Victor “Macho” Harris, whose fourth-quarter interception last week slammed the door on North Carolina in a 20-17 win. He also could get some snaps at wide receiver.
Nebraska: LBs Cody Glenn, Phil Dillard and Tyler Wortman. Their charge will be to keep Va Tech QB Tyrod Taylor under control when, not if, he breaks containment.
