A 58-year-old woman died yesterday evening after a one-car accident in Aurora.

Officers were sent to the intersection of East Dartmouth Avenue and South Laredo Street about 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Aurora police said in a news release.

They found a green 1996 Subaru Legacy that had run off the road. It was “straddling a small creek in Meadowood Park just southeast of the intersection,” the release said.

The female driver was unconscious and not breathing. She was pronounced dead at the hospital; her name was not released. There were no passengers in the car.

Witnesses told officers the woman had just left the parking lot of the Meadowood Recreation Center. A child’s birthday party was going on there, but police do not think the woman had been at that event.

The release said investigators found evidence that alcohol was a factor in the wreck. It is also possible a medical condition might have contributed to or caused the accident.
