AURORA, Colo.—A man accused of stabbing a Denver resident to death has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and is scheduled to stand trial March 16.

Twenty-seven-year-old Rodolfo Rauldale-Zuniga entered his plea Wednesday in Adams County District Court in Brighton.

He’s accused in the Aug. 10 stabbing death of 47-year-old James Mills.

Aurora police say the suspect was involved in a confrontation with Mills and stabbed him in the upper body. Officers arrested Rauldale-Zuniga a short time later.

Mills died later that day at a hospital.

Rauldale-Zuniga is being held without bond in the Adams County jail.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement has also placed an immigration hold on him, meaning he would be handed over to ICE officials if released from jail.
