Troy Aikman called Boomer Esiason’s recent critique of his work “laughable.” Aikman clearly was upset by Esiason’s charge that he seemed to be leaning toward the Cowboys during Sunday’s game against the Cardinals on Fox. “I don’t have a rooting interest in the booth,” said Aikman, who was a star quarterback for the Cowboys in the 1990s. “I think for anyone to suggest that is ludicrous. The part that’s disappointing to me is it comes from someone who I have a relationship with who should understand the issues that surround a former player coming into this profession.” Newsday
