COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. — A teen who pleaded guilty in a shooting in Colorado Springs that killed a former high school star running back has been sentenced to 70 years in prison.
Eighteen-year-old Tyrief Reynolds apologized in court Friday to the family of Diontea Jackson-Forrest, who was 19 when he was killed last year in the drive-by shooting.
Reynolds was accused of firing repeatedly into the car Jackson-Forrest was riding in with his girlfriend.
Reynolds pleaded guilty in July to second-degree murder and attempted murder.
