As of Sunday evening, authorities had arrested 51 sex offenders across the state as part of a crackdown by local, state and federal law-enforcement officials.

“We’re pleased with the response, which has been from tips and investigative leads,” said David Floyd , a deputy marshal with the U.S. Marshals Service.

“Operation Shepherd” was announced Friday, and has resulted in the arrest of eight people on a list of 100 high-profile offenders.

Arrests include No. 6 Joseph Archuleta, 40, for attempted sex assault on a child; No. 15 Timothy Channel, 31, for attempted sexual contact with force; No. 30 Russell Foreman , 25, for aggravated sex assault on a child; No. 46 Richard Homer, 31, for sex assault on a child by a person of trust; No. 50 Fabian Johnston, 42, for attempted 2nd degree sex assault; No. 53 Dakota Lamoureaux, 22, for sex assault on a child; No. 59 John Martinez, 42 , for sex assault; and No. 80 Reggie Rodriguez , 27, for attempted sex assault on a child.

Other offenders, who had failed to register their home address, also have been arrested.

Floyd said there have been no violent apprehensions.
