An “ongoing feud” led to a male Wheat Ridge High School student being hit by a car late this morning.

The student, who has not been identified, was in a physical fight off-campus today with another student from the school, said Lisa Stigall of the Wheat Ridge Police Department.

The second student involved in the fight got into a Nissan Sentra and drove into the first student.

The incident happened in the area of West 37th Avenue and Holland Street, several blocks from the school.

Police pulled over the Nissan on West 44th Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard shortly after the incident. Two passengers had since run off, and only the driver was taken in for questioning. His name was not released.

The victim was taken to St. Anthony Central Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are conducting interviews with witnesses.
