COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Republican congressman Doug Lamborn is getting ready for the only debate of his re-election campaign.
Lamborn meets Democratic challenger Hal Bidlack Thursday night at a high school in Colorado Springs.
Bidlack has blasted Lamborn for not debating. Bidlack and a third party candidate met last week for a debate, but Lamborn sidestepped the forum to work phones for Republican candidates. So the other candidates instead brought a cardboard cutout of Lamborn to skewer him for not appearing.
Lamborn is seeking a second term. The GOP has held this district since it was created in 1972.
