GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo.—An autopsy report says a Colorado man’s blood-alcohol level was nearly four times the legal limit after he and his son were killed when their car plunged 700 feet over a cliff.

The report released Thursday by the Garfield County Sheriff’s Department also says marijuana was found in the body of 41-year-old James Blissett of Lakewood.

Blissett’s blood-alcohol level was 0.296 percent, or 3.7 times higher than the 0.08 percent level that’s considered legally drunk.

Blissett, who was driving, and his 9-year-old son Jessy were killed just before midnight on Oct. 19 when their vehicle went off the cliff about nine miles north of Glenwood Springs.

Authorities have said the pair were on a hunting trip when they left for home that night.
