GREELEY, Colo.—A former Greeley police sergeant has been charged with four misdemeanors following a bar fight in July.

The Larimer District Attorney’s Office issued summonses Thursday to Kell Hulsey on two counts of third-degree assault, one count of harassment and one count of disorderly conduct.

Witnesses say the fight started after Hulsey and his son perceived that a male bar customer showed interest in Hulsey’s son.

Hulsey’s phone number is unlisted.

Hulsey was fired from the police department after the fight but was reinstated after an appeal to City Manager Roy Otto. Hulsey is now an officer, not a sergeant.

Police Chief Jerry Garner says Hulsey will be assigned to administrative duties until the case is closed.
