BOULDER, Colo.—The vote count in Boulder County is complete.

Election officials finished counting ballots around 4 p.m. Friday, 69 hours after the polls closed, although provisional ballots have yet to be tallied. Election officials say 160,154 people cast ballots this election, not counting provisional ballots.

The count was delayed because dust and stray ink marred thousands of ballots, prompting teams to inspect each ballot to make sure voting equipment wasn’t improperly recording those marks as votes.

Clerk and Recorder Hillary Hall says work will begin in earnest Monday to determine why problems occurred this week but not during previous elections and tests this year.
