LINCOLN, Neb.—Members of a Nebraska fraternity will run a football from Lincoln to Manhattan, Kan., as a fund raiser for Tom Osborne’s TeamMates program.

Osborne, Nebraska’s athletic director and former football coach, will hand off the football Thursday afternoon to the first runner from Lambda Chi Alpha. The 140-mile run will end Friday with a handoff to former Kansas State football coach Bill Snyder.

Local businesses have pledged money. Last year, a run to Lawrence, Kan., raised about $10,000.

Osborne and his wife Nancy founded the TeamMates Mentoring Program in 1991. It matches adult volunteers with students in grades 4 through 12.
