Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz is calling on his friends — even the New York Yankees — to help out with his children’s charity. Ortiz will hold a celebrity golf tournament in the Dominican Republic next month. Bobby Orr and John Havlicek are committed to play, along with Yankees Alex Rodriguez and Mariano Rivera. Ortiz said about 40 children have already received open-heart surgery through the charity. “It makes me feel like going 5-for-5 with three jacks,” Ortiz said. “This is what makes me a complete man, when I know I’m helping somebody that really needs it.” The Associated Press
