AURORA, Colo.—Aurora police are still trying to find a gunman suspected of shooting a city code-enforcement officer in what they call a “cold-blooded killing.”
Forty-year-old Rodney Morales was investigating a routine zoning complaint at an apartment complex Thursday when he was shot.
Police said Friday they are talking to nearby residents and asking area businesses if they have surveillance video that may show the gunman, who fled on foot.
Authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the identification and charging of the suspect.
Police say they’ll meet with Morales’ out-of-town family members, who are expected to arrive in Aurora Friday.
